Almost every fashion book, magazine and stylist has such a list, and whether or not the items are staples depends on your age and lifestyle. One list had a black corset top as a must have---which makes a lot of sense for a 20 something who goes out a lot, but for a 40 something mom? Not so much.
Anyway, I like the InStyle list because it's has both casual (striped shirts) and practical (LBD's) as well as simple things to add a little style(leopard print) to your everyday wear.
For the next ten days, I'll be highlighting an item from the list, beginning with the truly indispensible: a black blazer.
