Top Five Series, #4: Espadrilles

Traditionally, an espadrille is a shoe with a canvas or cloth upper and a sole made of rope, or jute. While the key characteristic of an espadrille---the rope sole---is still there, these shoes come in a variety of heel heights and don't necessarily have a cloth upper.

Jennifer Anniston's Wedge Sandals

Last year, pictures of Jennifer Anniston wearing her "Alex" Stuart Weitzman sandals were everywhere, causing the shoes to sell out quickly.

I don't think it was necessarily the shoes, but how amazing she looked, wearing a simple white tee and baggy khakis. At 40. (!)

Anyway, the pictures don't really give you a sense of how high the wedges are. At four-and-a-half inches, they are really tall, and not very practical, especially at $365.

This year, Stuart Weitzman re-issued the shoe in a lower (2 1/2 inch) height. The original is still available, and it looks like it will be just as popular as ever. I'm showing a variety of sites to get the shoes since I've noticed that some sizes are already selling out. There are also a few look alikes that are priced a lot less:
