Tee shirts are tricky to wear, and so are stripes. Choose a too-thin fabric and every bump and bulge is highlighted---too thick and you may as well wear a sweater. Then there are stripes. I don't think they make you look as wide as fashion stylists would have you think, but some patterns are just...loud.
I really like this Land's End striped shirt. The style is chic, the cut is meant for women and best of all...it's on sale!

What a difference the color shade makes! Imagine this same outfit; but with light blue jeans and a baby pink shirt...ok, it's Cindy Crawford and she would still look great, but perhaps not as trendy and chic as she does here.
If you don't have a pair of jeans this dark, black denim could also work, and a blouse with deep tones (navy, burgundy, moss green) to pair it with.

I keep finding these bargains online, and can't resist posting about it. It's not really the focus of this blog, but anything that can help us stretch our wardrobe budgets a little further is fine with me!
One other thing, if you order these pants online, and use the code ONSECRET25 before June 28th, you'll get an extra 25% off, making these cropped pants less than $10.00 before shipping.

Both on the runway and on celebrities, flare jeans were huge this year. For the over 40 woman, a classic,, chic and age appropriate way to wear flares jeans is with a loose button front blouse, tucked in with a skinny belt and worn over platofrm shoes.

The last item from InStyle Magazine's Top Ten Must Have List is probably a familiar one to most of us. Whether they are called flared jeans now, or bell bottoms in the 70s, this style is without a doubt, sexy. Can women over 40 still wear this style? Yes, but in a modified form. Save the patches, low rises, acid wash and extreme flares for the younger generation. The choices here include dark rinses, sturctured flares and mid rises.
