Reese Witherspoon wears a Jason Wu dress to the "Like Water for Elephants" premiere. This look is a fresh take on the LBD, and copies are bound to be everywhere soon. For now, only a few designers (and a handful of mass market brands) have similar styles.

A true American classic

We go from a British (future) princess to an American one...
Jackie Kennedy Onassis made the whipstitch sandal by Jack Rogers famous in the 60s. These days the shoes come in a variety of heel heights, colors and styles, but the way they add a dash of All-American prep to a summer outfit will always stay the same.

posted by Jo Frances on April 19, 2011 9:34 amI'm big on multi-tasking, so when I read about the shoes that promise to "tone" you as you walk, I was curious. If I could tell myself that I was working out while grocery shopping; well, that's less time on the treadmill for me!
I never got around to buying a pair, though, so I don't know if these shoes really work. (Comments, anyone?) But now I see that there are also EasyTone workout clothes. The description sounds good: resistance bands are built into the clothes as well as a fit that supports you.
I'm intrigued, especially since some of these pieces are on sale...
Jennifer Anniston's Wedge Sandals

Last year, pictures of Jennifer Anniston wearing her "Alex" Stuart Weitzman sandals were everywhere, causing the shoes to sell out quickly.
I don't think it was necessarily the shoes, but how amazing she looked, wearing a simple white tee and baggy khakis. At 40. (!)
Anyway, the pictures don't really give you a sense of how high the wedges are. At four-and-a-half inches, they are really tall, and not very practical, especially at $365.
This year, Stuart Weitzman re-issued the shoe in a lower (2 1/2 inch) height. The original is still available, and it looks like it will be just as popular as ever. I'm showing a variety of sites to get the shoes since I've noticed that some sizes are already selling out. There are also a few look alikes that are priced a lot less:
