One of the things that can age a woman is wearing a style silhouette that is dated. Nothing says "my best style years were in the 90s" than a closetful of boot cut jeans with no variation. A skinny fitted pant in a bright color may seem like going to the other extreme, but sometimes we all need a nudge towards the middle...and comfortable tunic tops may just be the incentive.

posted by Jo Frances on March 2, 2011 8:39 amI'm noticing a lot of cropped jackets on sale, so for those who want to try the trend, here's an outfit from the Milly show for inspiration.
I've modified the look by changing the pumps to ankle boots (because pumps are too high maintenance) and the cropped jackets are moto, or faux, leather (because it's still too cold for linen!) But the proportions, which are so important to keeping this figure friendly, remain the same: short jacket, over a loose tunic top, worn over pants that taper towards the ankle.
